The cheapest filly by champion sire I Am Invincible at the 2024 Inglis Easter Sale is already proving herself a bargain buy. Purchased for $260,000 in partnership with Seib Racing, our filly Wear the Crown announced her arrival in style at Goulburn on Thursday, securing her maiden win and banking a lucrative $100,000 Inglis Xtra Bonus in the process.

Lining up for just her second start in the 1300m maiden, Wear the Crown was well-backed under Alyssa Collett and didn’t let her supporters down. Despite being held up for a run in the straight, she knuckled down late, bursting through to score by a head and deliver her connections a result to savour.

Bred and sold by Yarraman Park, Wear the Crown is the first foal of Group III-winning Snitzel mare Macroura, a three-quarter sister to triple Group I winner and $6 million earner Sunshine in Paris. It’s a pedigree brimming with quality, and with this win under her belt, she looks an exciting proposition for the future—both on the track and beyond.

Her trainer Danielle Seib was full of praise for the filly’s effort.

“We had our eye on this race. She’s bred to be sharp, so it was a really good effort by the team to have her ready to run 1300m second-up,” Danielle said.

“It’s brilliant to get the job done with a filly of this calibre. She’s a big step up for our stable and a testament to both my team at home and my clients—especially Jason Abrahams—for their ongoing support. At the start of the prep, I wasn’t sure she’d even make it to the races, but she’s shown she’s a cut above most horses I’ve trained. She’s very intelligent, and everything we ask of her, she improves.”
