Patience Rewarded For Announcing Owners
A successful tendon injury rehabilitation and a change of training regime saw 5 year old Press Statement mare Announcing return to the winner's circle at Canberra on Friday. She had been sidelined in July last year after sustaining  an injury to her left fore tendon which required an extended break and a detailed rehabilitation program over many months.

She was third-up at Canberra on Friday after a below-par performance second-up at Goulburn where she over raced carrying 60kg's, Trainer Danielle Seib walked away from her second-up run and tweaked her training regime and gave her a solid jump out in between runs where she was ridden by Nick Heywood who was keen to maintain the ride on race day.

"We knew she was better than what she showed at her first two starts this preparation" Danielle Seib told connections after the win. "Riding her cold and letting her find the line did the trick today".

Starting as a $15 chance, Announcing stumbled out the gates, settling at the rear of the field. She was able to sneak her way through the field with a solid tempo set over the 1000m and Nick Heywood weaved his way up the straight for a convincing 1.1L victory.

A $10,000 online purchase as a yearling, Announcing has now earned $53,950 in prize money and will now be aimed at a $125,000 TAB Highway over 1000m at Randwick on Melbourne Cup Day.
