Lilac Chasing Black Type In Jim Moloney Stakes At Caulfield
Lilac will head to Caulfield on Saturday, looking to add some important black print to her pedigree when she lines up in the Jim Moloney Stakes for the three year old fillies. The daughter of Justify is lining up for her fourth career start, coming off a second placing at Warwick Farm behind promising colt Private Life- who lines up in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude on Saturday. Prior that run, she was a solid winner at Wyong, defeating stakes placed colt Embassy.

She made her way from Rob Archibald & Annabel Neasham's Warwick Farm stable and settled in well at the Pakenham base 10 days prior to her third-up assignment. She was able to have a look around Caulfield with a gallop in company on Tuesday morning which pleased both Annabel and jockey Mark Zahra who will partner her on Saturday.

The race has attracted a field of 10 fillies, headlined by the Godolphin trained Silmarillion (Too Darn Hot) who was good when winning the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes last start at Moonee Valley. The third place getter from that race, Sakima (Snitzel) has also been accepted to run in Saturday's race from barrier 7 with Damien Lane aboard.

Lilac has drawn favourably in barrier 5 where she should be able to utalise her brilliant gate speed to take up a positive position.

Best of luck to her connections as she endeavors to secure some valuable black-type!
