John O’Shea has singled himself out as one of Australia’s leading trainers, amassing more than $20 million in prizemoney earnings over the last seven racing seasons and building a record of consistency that has become the benchmark for the industry.
 
John’s attention to detail, communication skills, his understanding of the industry and his pursuit of excellence have ensured that his clients are consistently rewarded both on and off the racetrack.
 
He prides himself on the level of return custom his stable receives and on providing a premium service built on strong customer relations and outstanding racetrack results.
 
In the last four seasons alone, John has amazed a record of the highest order with:

·         49% placegetters to runners
·         25% of his runners have competed in races valued at $75,000 or more
·         13.7% of those that have competed in races valued at $75,000 or more have won
·         35.5% of those that have competed in races valued at $75,000 or more have been placed
 
These figures place him at the forefront of the nation’s elite racehorse conditioners. It is an outstanding result considering the size of his operation.

In the 10 years since taking out his training license John has prepared the winners of no less than 10 Group One events with champions Racing To Win and Private Steer heading a list of racing luminaries that includes Charge Forward, Shot of Thunder, Reigning To Win, Bedouin, Primus, Jet Spur, Fooram, Grey And Gold and Fast And Famous.
 
Talent continues to be moulded with his stable currently housing the likes of Racing To Win, Olanana, Fist of Fury, Silently, Pravana and Jessicabeel to name but a few.
 
The O’Shea brand has been built on a regime of hard work, thoughtful decision making and horsemanship. It is the reason why other high achievers from within the industry continue to be attracted to him.
 
Hugh Bowman, rated by his peers as the nation’s leading rider right now, is a permanent fixture to the O’Shea camp as is Tim Clark who was the leading apprentice in Sydney for successive seasons.
 
Champion jockey Darren Beadman has had a highly successive association with the O’Shea stable and when he returns to ride at carnival time in Sydney or Melbourne he is always eager to reunite with John.
 
Just as importantly John has built a world class team of stable support staff that educate and prepare horses for the challenges of high class racing.
 
Behind the scenes there are leading trackwork riders and experienced stablehands that work tirelessly to build a racehorse to peak performance, while John’s veterinary team is headed by Michael Robinson who is regarded as Australia’s leading lamness expert.
 
It is this attention to detail that has ensured every horse that enters John’s stable is given every conceivable opportunity to maximize their capabilities.
 

JASON ABRAHAMS

Jason has been in control of the operational side of his own breeding and racing business for the past 16 years. Originally educated at university in Accounting, Jason has a hands-on role in the organisation and attends many of the sales throughout the year for yearlings and mares. This provides Jason with a close appreciation of the market and trends that are developing in breeding and racing, which the family organisation has then leveraged from to create opportunities for growth.

Over this time, he has purchased and raced many horses (Mohave Dancer, Charge Forward, Faith Hill, Men At Work, Steflara, Chiming Lass, Winona, Cool Front, Fist of Fury) and also bred and sold yearlings successfully at the major sales (Fraud, Winona, Chiming Lass, Phoenix Park, Natural Blitz, Black Minx, Road To Rock).

Jason is also a Certified Financial Planner and owns a financial planning business in Sydney. Jason holds directorships and shareholdings in a vast array of businesses. He has been involved in the development of a number of start up operations.

Jason’s role will include sale selections, marketing and syndicating of the stock purchased, as well as the ongoing management of each syndicated horse.
