Black Fix is a son of Lonhro, from the Stakes Placed mare Latte (by Anabaa). He was a $100,000 yearling purchase from renowned Hunter Valley nursery, selected by Vin Cox, bloodstock agent, from Vinery Stud on behalf of the syndicate.

Lonhro is enjoying a fabulous season and is currently the Leading 3rd Season Sire in Australia. His 3YO's have been at the fore front of this success with the likes of Gr 1 winner Denman and Gr 3 winners Demerit and Deer Valley. These 3YO's look to be exciting prospects for the Autumn.

His dam, Latte, was a most consistant racehorse, winning 8 races from 1000 to 1600m. She was trained at Lindsay Park by Tony McEvoy. Black Fix's full sister, Nosugar, has won twice this year in Victoria.

Black Fix returned to the stable in early January. He trialled nicely on 2 occasions, winning both. He made his debut at Kembla Grange over 1300m on 21st March where he ran a most encouraging 5th.  His next start was over 1400m with the addition of blinkers at Kembla. He ran a terrific race to run 2nd and eventually broke through for a well deserved win at Kembla in late April before running a solid 3rd at Scone on their big Cup day. We then ventured to Canterbury on a heavy track over 1580m but unfortunately he didnt handle the conditions finishing 5th. He has since been spelled (June) and has now returned to Randwick with John at the end of August. John believes he has fantastic potential which has been shown in his recent trackwork and training. We expect him to be trialling and racing this Spring - high hopes for all!!
