Overwhelming Response for War Pass Colt
Wednesday, January 18, 2012
Champion Thoroughbreds has been blown away by the amount of interest
that our new War Pass colt, purchased at the Magic Millions Premier
Yearling Sale, has attracted from our clients and outside interests.
When you analyse it however, it’s not all that surprising. He was the stand-out for trainer
John O'Shea and Champion Thoroughbreds Director
Jason Abrahams
from the moment he walked out of his box. On watching him walk, both
quickly scribbling 'outstanding' on the colt's catalogue page.
His sire,
War Pass won USA's
premier juvenile race, the 2007 Grade 1 Breeders Cup Juvenile by a
stunning 4 3/4 lengths following his convincing win of the Grade 1
Belmont Champagne Stakes three weeks earlier. He went on to be named
Champion 2yo of the USA
- a title also worn proudly by Street Sense, Dehere and Deputy Minister
(to name a few) - all sires that have made their mark, or are starting
to, in the breeding barn.
His dam, Mi Chiamo reinforces these two year old strengths. She was
placed 3rd in the Listed Gimcrack Stakes, Sydney’s earliest 2yo stakes
race for fillies. She is by
Catbird, a Group 1 Golden Slipper winner. Mi Chiamo hails from the family of Group 1 winners
Mr. Bureaucrat and
All Black Gold.
Champion Thoroughbreds has been overwhelmed by the interest shown for
this colt which led to us, after a mere 5 days since purchasing him at
the Magic Millions Premier Yearling Sale, reserving 70% of him for keen
parties. When we finish the PDS, we will be sending out application
forms and will then name him (with the help of his lucky owners) once
all the applications have been received.
If you're not part of this 70% who have already registered interest,
don't fret! There is still 30% available for him! Give Belinda a call on 0401 485 584 or
email her to reserve a share or to discuss the colt (pictured below).
