The highly successful Danehill/Snippets cross has featured strongly in recent Group racing.  To date, this cross has produced 12 Stakes winners, 3 of which have been Group 1 winners.  Leading 2YO sire Snitzel, a Group 1 winner of the MRC Oakleigh Plate is by Redoute’s Choice from Snippet’s Lass.  Magnus who retired to stud last year, won the Group 1 AJC Galaxy and is by Flying Spur from Scandinavia (by Snippets).  Most recently, another Group 1 winner was added to this list when Wanted (by Fastnet Rock from Fragmentation) took out the Group 1 Newmarket Hcp at Flemington last Saturday.

Consistent Sydney sprinter Shellscrape, a Group 2 winner of the AJC Roman Consul Stakes and twice placed in Group 1 company, is a son of young Danehill sire Daneshadow, from the Snippets mare Kisma. 

In action at the Autumn Carnival meeting at Randwick on Saturday will be 2 exciting 2YO’s who are also products of the Danehill/Snippets cross.  Crystal Lily, by Stratum from the Snippets mare Crystal Snip will line up as one of the favourites in the Sweet Embrace Stakes after winning both the Chairmans Stakes and the Blue Diamond Fillies Preview both at Caulfied and both at Listed level.

Snitzel’s ¾ brother Hinchinbrook, by Fastnet Rock from Snippet’s Lass, will line up in the Skyline Stakes for his 2nd start after impressively taking out the Listed Canonbury Stakes on the same track on debut.
