Zabrasive Shows a Spring in His Step

Monday, August 09, 2010

O'Shea legged jockey Corey Brown aboard and asked him to just give the cup hopeful a "burn around". Zabrasive however, jumped with enthusiasm, before drifting back in the field, and then circled the field under a strong hold, to be 5 wide throughout, before finishing a strong and clear 3rd in the trial behind Montana Flyer and Once Were Wild.

It was the kind of trial that wont be missed by the scouts and Zabrasive gave his owners and trainer a clear message that he was back, and that we will see the new and improved Zabrasive as he starts to reach maturity as a racehorse.

Jockey Corey Brown came back with a big smile on his face, indicating that he was given a good feel during the trial, and trainer O'Shea was more than pleased to hear the feedback from the Cup winning hoop, who explained himself by saying "great" before a question had been asked.

He will now head to Melbourne on the 17th before contesting the Memsie Stakes over 1400m first up.

Good luck to all owners and may the fairytale ride continue. Get excited!
