Perfect Hussey is a daughter of Hussonet, sire of Weekend Hussler, and top racehorses, now sire, Blue Diamond winner Reaan, Host, Husson and Husson Lightning. He's also kicking goals as a broodmare sire in the America's. Though his Australian daughters are too young, we expect he will do the same here, so Perfect Hussey will have residual value as a broodmare. She was purchased at the Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast.
Perfect Hussey has always shown plenty of ability at trackwork and after a few setbacks due to injury she is finally coming into herself and her owners couldn't be happier. She has plenty of gas still in the tank having only ran 9 race starts during her time in work.
As a 3yo, Perfect Hussey had four runs for a close 2nd over 1200m, plagued with injury as a 4yo, Perfect Hussey came back as a 5yo in fine fashion and importantly, injury free. Resuming from a spell, Perfect Hussey broke her maiden winning at Wyong over 1200m first up. She then ran third up only to get beaten for 2nd by a head, also at Wyong, now we know her favourite track! Her most recent race was unfortunate, having no luck in the running, Perfect Hussey finished fifth my a mere 2 lengths. Following this start she indicated that she was in need of a spell which we happily obliged to. She has just completed her spell at Emeran Park and is looking the picture of good health and top condition. She is currently at the pre-trainers and is on the improve every day, we look forward to her first up race this coming preparation.
She returned to the stable in late January and looks particularly well. She has grown slightly and strengthened up considerably, which will hopefully hold her in good stead this time in. Perfect Hussey has been pleasing John in her work and trialled on 12th April where she won by 4L. She had one race in May where she finished down the track on an unsuitable Newcastle surface but subsequent to this has injured herself forcing a break.
She arrived back in the stable in October and after pre-training and showing particularly good progress, she ran a strong second at Randwick Barrier trials in a field of seven runners and then fourth at Rosehill in which she was given a nice relaxed trial. Unfortunately an injury sidelined the mare over summer months.
Perfect Hussey has now been given the all clear and commenced some pre-training on 6th June before returning to the Randwick stables. She is now back racing and won her first start back at Wyong. We look forward to more wins in the future.
