Life's A Beach For Sir Denzel After Retirement

Last month we received an excellent update on retired Champion horse Zoltar and we were so pleased to receive an update on past stable member Sir Denzel from his owner Tayah. Tayah took on Sir Denzel in 2014 when he was retired from Racing. Now an 8 year old, Denzel has been competing at low level eventing for the past year and is a "very bold jumper". His forte is cross country but he is perfecting his dressage moves before he can progress to a higher grade. Tayah adores his laid back, cheeky attitude and told us that he has an unlikely obsession with milk coffee biscuits. She said that he still remembers his racing days, especially when they venture to the beach for a gallop.

Sir Denzel notched up one win and 4 placings during his racing career including a start in the Group 1 QLD Derby in 2013. He was moved on from Champion in 2014 before being retired after one start. It was then he found his forever home with Tayah.

With so much emphasis on horse welfare in the racing industry it is important that we highlight the time and effort that goes into these horses after racing. We would like to say thank you to Tayah for giving Sir Denzel a fantastic home and we wish them more success (and milk coffee biscuits) in the future!
