Bright Prospects For Superhard After Back To Back Wins

They can't do much more than win and that's exactly what Superhard achieved at Sandown on Wednesday. The three year old son of Vinery Stud's ALL TOO HARD made is back to back wins over the 1000m in the Benchmark 70 grade after winning on debut at Pakenham on the synthetic on August 22nd. Partnered again by Ryan Maloney, Superhard jumped cleanly from the widest gate and took a sit behind the Wait For No One (Hayes & Dabernig) the favourite, Written Choice (Logan McGill). He travelled very strongly around the home turn and let down with an enormous turn of foot to attack the line, defeating his rivals by half a neck.

"He's a horse of obvious talent and not the most straight forward horse- Ryan (Maloney) has done a lot of work with him from Day 1" Robert Smerdon told Racing.com following the race. "I think drawing wide helped him today as he didn't have long to wait in the barriers and his manners were so much better." "I'm really pleased that he's gone out and won a race which I thought had a quite a bit of depth."

A $130,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Champion Thoroughbreds from the Kitchwin Hills draft, Superhard is a half-brother to Group II winner Twilight Royale and stakes-placed Mio Roiale. He is the seventh winner from good producing Royal Academy (USA) mare Royal Season. He was the only purchase for Champion Victoria at last year's Inglis Sales after returning an outstanding cardio rating with the Matchem Genetics Testing.

Congratulations to his big team of owners Champion Thoroughbreds Victoria, Dr C M Rogers, Mr S G Mcpeake, Mr I F Foster, Barham Racing, Mr T N Dickson, Mrs A M Dickson, Ms D J Mcshane, C And F W Racing, Mr A S Bongiorno, Mr M J Symons, Mr B J Rogers, Mr R T Ponting, Mr J A Henderson, Mr M A Hunter, Mr G Sposato, Mrs T L Hussey, Mr M J Catanzariti, Mrs N Murashova, Mr S P Hedge
