"Bargain Purchase Of The Sale"- O'Shea & Champion Thoroughbreds Strike Gold At Magic Millions

Champion Thoroughbreds & John O'Shea secured their first yearling for 2018 with the purchase of Lot 161 on the first day of the Magic Millions sale on Wednesday. The Colt, by Helmet is a 3/4 brother to multiple stakes winner ABILITY, a Melbourne sprinter who boasts an enviable record of 17 starts for 7 wins and 4 placings including a recent victory in the Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes in August when defeating Lankan Rupee & Duke Of Brunswick. The dam, Paeroa (Dubai Destination) is a half sister to Group 2 winner WELL ROUNDED. This colt comes from the family of stakes performers CAMPANOLOGIST, ONE FINE DAY and ISABELLA SINGS.

Interestingly, this colt is bred using the same successful cross as Helmet's Group 1 winning son THUNDER SNOW (IRE) who is also out of a Dubai Destination mare (Eastern Joy).

"He was a no-brainer for us" John O'Shea commented after the purchase. "For $60,000 we've secured 3/4 relation to a very smart Group 3 winner and he is a cracking type". "He represents incredible value and I'm excited to have him in my stable".

With the average price for a yearling on Day 1 of the sale coming in at an astounding $215,220, this colt will sure to prove popular amongst those looking for their golden ticket to the Magic Millions without the massive price tag.
