This exceptional colt is by a Champion Sire, and is bred on a proven graded stakes producing cross.

The sire, Pins, winner of the VRC Australian Guineas (gr. I), is firmly established as the leading stallion son of his sire, Snippets. A prolific and consistent sire of quality performers, Pins has sired 55 stakes winners, 29 of them graded. These include Champion and four-time grade one winner El Segundo, Champions Ambitious Dragon, Katie Lee and Legs, and other grade one winners Porotene Gem, Econsul, and A Touch of Ruby.

This colt’s dam, Enjoy is by Horse of the Year O’Reilly. The sire of 71 stakes winners – third all time for a New Zealand –based sire, behind only Sir Tristram and Zebeel – O’Reilly is fast earning a reputation as a major broodmare sire, his daughters producing such as grade one stars Daffodil and The Pooka.

Enjoy is out of the swift Playful Fingers, a winner of five races, including the ARC Champagne Stakes and Waikato Stud Stakes, both black-type events, and also placed in the Gold Trail Stakes (gr. III) and Lowland Stakes (gr. III). The well-bred Playful Fingers is half-sister to graded stakes winning and group one placed Hancock Park, herself dam of Park Lane, a multiple graded stakes winner and group one performer. In addition, Playful Fingers is a half-sister to Clever Zoe, winner of the VATC Debutante Stakes, and runner-up in the Lightning Stakes (gr. I), and subsequently dam of stakes winner Dual Hemisphere, and granddam of stakes winner Girl Hussler; and also to Ever Clever, dam of stakes winner Ritzy Lady, and to La Bates Blue dam of stakes winner Our Quartet.

The direct cross that produced this colt, that of Pins with mares by O’Reilly, has already produced five stakes winners, including group two scorers Icepin and Shopaholic and graded winner Tootsie.
