Testimonials
Here at the Champion Thoroughbreds and the John O'Shea racing stable, we aim for the highest possible standard in providing our clients with consistent updates, pictures, voice recordings from the jockeys and John himself, and video's of their horses swimming, galloping or simply having a roll in the sand, not to mention open days and trackwork mornings. We'd like to thank our clients for allowing us to quote their wonderful comments on this page.
Hi Belle,
We just wanted to pass on our sincere thanks to you, Jason and John.
We really appreciate receiving up to date information on the progress and plans of our beautiful boy "Sir Denzel" and those voice memos you send are fantastic and so exciting to hear.
Sir Denzel's first race on Easter Monday at Randwick was a fabulous day out for us (we are so proud of him) and we had the best time sharing the day with you all and the other owners. We felt so special being owners and thoroughly enjoyed hearing John's and Jim Cassidy's pre & post race talk. It was so informative!
Thanks once again for your attention to detail and we look forward to sharing many more wonderful times with the Champion Team.

Hi Belle,
I have been consistently impressed with your communication and pleasant manner, I feel that it's very important when owning a share(s) in racehorses. The up to date information that's provided make it an absolute pleasure to own a horse with Champion. The jockey and trainer interviews, pre and post race, make me feel part of the process, not to mention the frequent photo's and video's.
You and everyone in the Champion Team are very approachable as is John himself, you're all very easy to talk to, regarding my horses or anything about the racing industry.
You make race day a very great experience, especially if the horse wins! On the whole, I'm extremely happy with the service that Champion provides, it's in-depth and very professional. I will continue to by shares in the Champion Thoroughbreds horses, I've had a great time!
Thanks very much,
John Viola

Hi Belle/Jason/John,
I have had a handful of race horses over the past 25 years and have always gone for the cheaper variety, usually a first season sire or a hand me down from a big stable that a few mates could purchase and have some fun with. I have won a few races on bush and country tracks, but the decision to step up and take a share in a more expensive, well bred youngster was something that looked to be the only way to have a successful City class horse, and a way to enjoy the experience with my Father, who has followed the same path as I have.
I have been so very impressed by the professionalism shown by everyone in the Champion team, and by the O'Shea stable, full of dedicated horse people. The fact that John has let us into his work place to watch what goes on at Randwick while most of us sleep, right through to the constant email updates provided by Belle , it has been a dream ride. I know our filly did something unheard of by winning such a big money race at her first start, but money aside the experience has been second to none. The experience of having won the $200,000 Magic Millions Wyong 2yo Classic and then running in the Magic Millions has blown me away, and it's something our family will look back on with such great memories for ever. (I am sure John won't forget me kissing him on the cheek in the Wyong excitement either, haha)
My wife has never owned a horse, nor ever had the desire to, is now eagerly awaiting the next trackwork morning, Nominations and barrier draw like her life depends on it, goes to show what an experience it can be for everyone.
Once again I just want to thank all involved with Hoss Amor, you are all a credit to the industry.
As an owner of a Champion Thoroughbreds horse I feel that I am involved with the best in the business, and that my horse will not only be placed in the races that she will be competitive in, but I know that my horse will be fully fit and 100% committed to run a great race every time. (Now that is how you know a good operation, strike rates don't lie).
Many Thanks,
Kevin Bruce

Hi Belle,
Thanks for the hospitality at the Warwick Farm barrier trials on Tuesday, to watch Target In Sight go around for the first time.
To be there at the stalls seeing him pre and post the trial, and to get the opportunity to talk to Nash and John was just awesome. In fact all your emails, updates, videos and pics are great and keep us all very well informed.
Thanks again and looking forward to the races!

First of all, a big thank you to Belle, she really is great. Always finds time to answer my silly questions nothing seems too much trouble. I'm glad I listened to Sky Sports Radio regarding Number One Gun, as this is where I first heard about Champion Thoroughbreds.
It's my first time in horses but I don't think it's my last... It's GREAT FUN!!
Thanks again!

Belle,
Just wanted to drop you a line on behalf of The Red Eye Syndicate to thank you for arranging our tickets in the Magic Millions Dining Suite last Saturday. We had a great time, the views, food and atmosphere was tremendous. Such a thrill to have Hoss Amor in the big one.
Thanks also to you, Jason and John for your hospitality at Lilsister on Friday night, with so many owners in Hoss from all over, it was a nice way to get to know everyone. Just another initiative from Champion Thoroughbreds that is appreciated by the owners.
Looking forward to the Guineas next year.

Dear Belle,
Firstly congratulations on what has been a big week for the Champion Thoroughbred team with 3 winners from 4 starters and an extremely creditable 7th in the Magic Millions. Carmine King with whom I have a share kicked it off on Thursday 12th January with a win at Gosford Twilight Meeting. "The King" was turned out in spectacular order by John and the stable. I could not possibly have been more impressed with how he looked, fit and a sparkling coat and he ran accordingly. Full credit to John and his team. Judging by how well "The King" looked, I am not surprised the success continued over the weekend.
The success on the track is replicated off the track in the numerous activities we are invited to participate and the communication is of the highest level. No matter how small or large your share in the horse, Champion make you feel like you are the only owner and the only horse in the stable is yours. Having been part of other Syndicates previously, it really is a world away to what you get with Champion and I would never go back to the old ways. Ownership should be fun and you should feel involved, and that's what the Champion team provides.
I feel extremely proud to be a small part of the Champion team and my shares in 3 horses will most certainly not be the last with the team.
Go the Champion team!!!
Best Regards,
Manny Perez

Dear Belle,
Thanks for all the info on Hoss Amor's progress -- you have kept us all so well informed as well as entertained! We enjoyed seeing her having her sand roll today, she was really loving that!!
We appreciate all the communication -- you make our new venture into the world of thoroughbred racing an even better experience than we realised it could be.
We look forward to seeing you at the Magic Millions on Saturday.
Kind regards,

Hi Jason,
Just wanted to pass on my well wishes for Christmas and for the New Year to yourself, Belle, John and Bryce and of course Midnight Reigns.
Thank you for your time throughout the year, you are always open to discuss, not only issues relating to my horses but also about the industry in general and I appreciate that immensely.
As an interstate owner, you make me feel as close as possible to all the action with all the updates, photos and even sound recordings of John and Christian (a great idea). There are times when I feel as if I'm closer to the Randwick Stable than I am with my Victorian Stable.
I wish you all the best in the new year, with more Group racing glory for the Champion Thoroughbred stable.
Many happy returns to you and your family.
Regards

Hi Belle,
I just wanted to write and say thank you for the part that you and the rest of the team at Champion Thoroughbreds played in making Friday night an amazing experience for me. I've always enjoyed all aspects of horse racing and dream of owning shares in a race horse one day, and the experience of being an owner of Number One Gun on Friday night gave me a little taste of that.
Despite not being a regular owner, you and Jason and all the other regular owners who were there really made me feel like an owner and not just a person who had won a competition.
Thanks once again,
Andrew McLeod

Hi Belle,
Thanks for all of your updates and photos! He does look like he if furnishing into an outstanding individual.
It has been a pleasure having my first horse with Champion due to the little things that you all do so well. I have had lots of horses (and still do) with other syndicators and while they all have their good points, the service from Champion in the short time I've been with you has been outstanding. I haven't met any of you as yet but have seen the horse and met John through stable visits for my other horse with John – I look forward to meeting you and Jason in the New Year as well as hopefully watching Wahlberg get to the races.
Regards
Gavin Seto

From the very first call to Julia regarding our future champion, Carmine King, our experience with Champion Thoroughbreds has been nothing but positive.
Julia has from day one been very supportive with our questions, arranging stable visits, access to track work, pre and post race day reports, Julia takes great time and effort in ensuring our experiences as owners are positive. When it comes to communication, Julia and the Champion Team are fantastic, whether it is John at track work providing his opinion as to our horses performance , Julia and Jason on race days with pre race calls confirming the arrangements for the day and supporting us through the day or Bryce with his advice on horse placement, everyone has been very approachable and supportive of our needs.
We have also had enjoyed the experience of meeting and celebrating with the other owners in The King
If you have had horses in the past or are new to the sport, we in The Freight Train syndicate would have no hesitation in recommending Champion Thoroughbreds to you for your next purchase, in fact we are in the process investing again.

Thanks again for taking the time out of your busy schedule to show us around at trackwork and the very informative tour of John's stables, we both thoroughly enjoyed the morning and all involved made us feel welcome......and of course it was great to finally see Midnight Reigns. Hopefully we will get to see her again in the near future.

Julia and Jason,
On behalf of myself and family, I would just like to thank you both again (and John) for the exceptional service and time we received from you all on our recent trip to Sydney.
The kids (especially Mitchell) can't stop talking about Middy, the stables, trackwork (Mitchell - thinks John is just it now, and Nash Rawiller saying hello to him at trackwork blew him away, he is hooked now thanks and just how much generally they all enjoyed finally meeting the girl after all the talk and pics.
We are very greatful for the racing experience and knowledge you offer your owners (especially 1st timers like us) and we hope to continue supporting and racing with Champion for many years to come.

We would just like to thank you, John and staff for giving us the opportunity to gain an insight into the running of the O'Shea racing stables. For us "bush boys" it was a great opportunity to see first hand how one of Sydney's leading stables operates. John's professionalism and attention to detail is something that we talked about on our journey back to Grenfell. We found yourself and John very approachable.
We would also like to thank the number one club, its a great concept, thanks again Julia.
