This flag bearer for the colts has had a taste of life at Randwick, and liked it. He has a tremendous constitution and attitude which will hold him in good stead as he develops into a racehorse over the coming months.
He is by first season yearling sire Nadeem who although won a Blue Diamond has a staying pedigree, which gives us hope that he will improve with age which is always necessary in young horses. He impressed us as a yearling and is comparable to any horse in the stable on looks so we have high hopes for this individual.
His ownership group is vast and very excited about him. The owners include many longer term clients of the stable as well as some welcome newcomers.
His name was the most popular name from a selective list chosen by the ownership group and lets hope it suggests that in the future the target is a Gr1...and it's in sight!
During a good spell at Emeran Park, Target In Sight developed further into a lovely horse. He continues to impress everyone who lays their eyes on him. He completed 3 weeks of pre-training at Shipton Lodge and is now back in the stable, working well and looking picture perfect. John couldn't be happier with him. Target In Sight has now had two jump out's and has further impressed us.

And then it was time to trial! He made the trip to Warwick Farm where Nash Rawiller partnered with him. He went very well and finished in third position. Nash commented that he did not let him go once and that he got a little bit of a fright when a wall of horses came in front of him (something which has never happened before!), but all in all a great result to finish where he did.
Nash partnered the colt again for his second barrier trial, again at Warwick Farm, this time Target was quickly away and settled beautifully to surge home well in the final stages in second position to Narcissus, now stakes-placed. Following these trials Target In Sight was put out for a months break.
Target In Sight is now back in the stable and looking great. He has come on in fitness and we have taken him out for a trial, and he really commanded attention. Under Christian Reith, Target In Sight settled in into the Rosehill Gardens field of nine runners. After leaving the gates quickly Target rounded for home and was given some rein in order to quicken up which he really took advantage of. He hit the front 100m just to be swamped on the outside to cross the line in second position, beaten a neck.
Reith commented that he felt amazing. He will have another trial before lining up for his first career start.
