By the 5 time Group 1 winning sire, Darci Brahma, a winner of 10 races, up to 1600m, and making a serious name for himself as a sire with the likes of Darci Be Good. His Dam is by the son of Sadlers Wells, in Galileo. His second Dam, is a dual Group 1 Winner (Love Dance) and winner of 4 races from 2000m to 2200m.

He hails from the famous Hula Family – Hula Chief, Hulastrike, Sir Madas, Hula Drum. The colt has a double cross of Sir Tristram, which has already proven highly successful, with Black Minx, and also the Sadlers Wells / Nureyev cross. This had a good spell after an effortless breaking in process which he handled without any issues whatsoever. He is a lovely colt with a terrific temperament, ideal for his future racing as a middle distance horse.

Wahlberg has physically been a stand out since day one so we have very high hopes for this colt, which have been seconded by John O'Shea. His first preparation flew by without a hitch. It included going through the gates and having a couple of good hit outs. He jumps out of the barriers like lightening, whilst continuing to travel. A real professional about his work.

Following another spell, Wahlberg grew considerably and came back into the stable with a larger than life attitude. After a few successful jump outs Wahlberg was ready for his first trial. He was ridden by Christian Reith at the Warwick Farm trials. He ran a very good third behind now stakes-placed colt Narcissus, and our other 2yo colt, Target In Sight who had the upper hand on him with an extra trial up his sleeve. Wahlberg then made the trip to the Rosehill trials a few weeks later, this time to be partnered with Nash Rawiller, who had very nice things to say about the colt after he had been blocked for a run the entire way but still made a gallant dash home.

Wahlberg has been put out to further mature and develop and we will look to bring him back in the Spring to target some feature three year old races.
