This colt is an absolutely breathtaking individual, as you can see in the picture below, this colt is all strength. He backs up his good looks with a great walk that shows off a good swing of the hip and a forward purpose in the walk. Jason Abraham's and John O'Shea earmarked this colt in November before the sale. He was an outstanding type and was the horse they were returning to secure. He progressed even further at the sale.

He is by the exciting Group 1 winning speed sire, Northern Meteor, the fastest horse ever over 1200m at Royal Randwick. Dual track record holder and Group 1 winner down the famous Flemington Straight. Referred to as the 'Equine Usain Bolt' by the racing media. He is the best son by Champion Sire Encosta de Lago and the most popular young sire in Australia. Enough said!

This colt's dam, Alcazaba, is by Flying Spur, a sire that the young broodmare sire ranks, with the likes of Sebring (Group 1 Golden Slipper), Headway (Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes), Military Rose (Group 2 STC Reisling Stakes) and Tullamore (Group 2 Brisbane Cup) to name but a few.

Alcazaba is a half-sister to Melbourne trained filly Celebrity Girl, a filly that won the Listed VRC Cap d'Antibes Stakes by close to three lengths in her second ever start, she followed this exciting result with a third in the Group 2 VRC Edward Manifold Stakes and recently won another Stakes race. Alcazaba is also a three quarter sister to Albaicin, a dual winning, Listed place getter who ran 4th in the Group 2 City Tatts RC Furious Stakes.

Our well credentialed colt's grand-dam ran fourth in the Group 1 VRC Oaks and the Group 1 VATC Thousand Guineas, winning a Listed race in the lead up in addition to placing in the Group 2 VRC Edward Manifold Stakes. He goes back to the likes of top two year old Northeast Sheila, winner of top two year old events including winning AND running second in the respective Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude races for fillies and winning the Listed VRC Maribyrnong Trial Stakes.

Trainer John O'Shea commented, "He's the best Northern Meteor I've seen, and I had him on my 'Must Have' list after I saw him at Rich Hill stud in New Zealand in November, three months prior to the sale. He's a lovely type that looks like he'll be a very tough two year old. He's got a great attitude and he's an exciting prospect."

We feel that this colt will be a a precocious, early two year old and have entered him to run in the Karaka Millions - Worth $1 million to the winner.

This colt is currently at Leigh Equine Services and is underway with his breaking-in. The breakers have reported that he is a nice moving colt who is a little cheeky, but improving dramatically.
